John specialises in child, family and criminal law. He is regularly instructed by both local authorities and parents in adoptions, permanence orders, contact, residence and cases arising from children's hearings.

John has particular experience in complex fatal accident inquiries and shaken baby cases. He is also experienced in all aspects of criminal law and appears in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland as well as the High Court and the Court of Session.
