Prior Experience

Prior to becoming an Advocate, Frances was a Solicitor in private practice in Glasgow for 10 years. Since calling to the Bar, she has been consistently instructed. She has extensive experience of conducting trials in the High Court, both as sole Counsel and junior Counsel.

She has appeared in numerous high profile trials where the charges have included murder, attempted murder, abduction, rape and other sexual offences, firearms offences, importation of drugs and related drugs offences.

In addition Frances has extensive experience of conducting children's referral proofs in cases involving extreme medical complexity, including subdural haemorrhage, retinal haemorrhage, identification and dating of fractures and psychiatric and psychological evidence of alleged sexual abuse.
